Enjoyed reading this. I love meeting other people in the world who also feel so strongly about writing, I think mainly because we all desire to relate to others. I look forward to reading more of your work :)

Thank you for reading! In the lonely landscape of writing, it’s wonderfully reassuring to find a kindred soul. ❤️

Saw that you liked an office hour comment I made. Saw that you write about not writing. Opened this one up and it caught my attention throughout. I understand why you want to write. There is a treasure trove within you. You pay attention to the depths and understand the superficial. I will be interested in reading you again!

I concur. Some family members still believe writing is not a legitimate form of work. Sounds like you live in a very upscale area? I noticed a big difference in conversations once I left Los Angeles. I remember eavesdropping young moms at the gym talking about seeing Tom Cruise at a party, the fancy cars they drove... while moms at the gym in a small town discussed gardening.

Interesting observation about how class dictates topics of conversation, even in similar settings! Yes, perhaps it does take the comfort of socio-economic privilege to pursue writing in a professional capacity. Although I'm not sure if I would describe where I grew up (Delhi, India) as necessarily upscale. I suppose I've been fortunate. Thank you for reading! :)

You are gifted in making the most commonplace things in life so interesting!

I thought, 'what do you do?' is such a mundane, trivial question. Thanks for bringing awareness to the question itself. Now i may grapple, as ever, to find an answer that satisfies me , and also find an answer that satisfies others. It is not often, there is just one answer for self and others.

Thoughts like 'it takes a degree of honesty to write fiction' is so simple yet so powerful.

Those are just a few ordinary words; but not to a writer.

Ouch. Yep.
